Rainbow Families Yorkshire CIC is stepping confidently into ground-breaking research that has the potential to transform NHS maternity services across South Yorkshire. By centring the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ parents and families, this work aims to identify gaps, challenge inequalities, and shape more inclusive, compassionate care from pregnancy through postnatal support. Through collaboration with communities and health professionals, Rainbow Families Yorkshire CIC is helping to ensure that future maternity services truly reflect and serve the diverse families who rely on them.

In a statement released on Monday 29th December, Rainbow Families Yorkshire stated "participants will either be currently pregnant or have been pregnant in the last two years. We want the good and the bad experiences from maternity services within Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, and Sheffield. We would also like to hear from those who have used a surrogate or donor and had access to maternity services."

To say thank you, the LGBTQ+ Family charity are offering a free soft play session for children and parents at play centres in Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, and Sheffield. This will include free food and drinks for children, plus a well-deserved tea or coffee for parents. Parents will also receive a free voucher as a thank-you for their time and voice.
