Mandela Gardens is located across from Barnsley Interchange, please visit Travel South Yorkshire (https://www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/)for bus and train time tables. If you are travelling by car, you can find Town Centre car parks (https://www.barnsley.gov.uk/services/roads-travel-and-parking/parking/car-parks-and-on-street-parking/)information on the Barnsley Council website.
If you are travelling on foot, you can enter the pride site from Regent Street, Eldon Street (via Regent Street South and The Arcade) and Market Hill (via George Yard and The Arcade).

No, Barnsley Pride is all free to attend. Entry to Mandela Gardens, The Garrison and Barnsley Civic will all be free to enter. The official after party is delivered by a third party, entry fees may apply.
No. Alcohol and glass containers are not allowed inside the pride site. Sealed plastic water bottles (up to 500ml) are permitted. There will be plenty of bars and food vendors on site.
No. Barnsley Pride celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community, but everyone is welcome to join the festivities. Anyone displaying homophobic, transphobic, or anti-social behaviour will be removed from site.
Yes, Barnsley Pride is committed to accessibility for all. There will be accessible toilets and support services available within the pride site. These are located within The Garrison and Barnsley Civic.
Yes. Children aged 15 and under must always be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Entertainment in The Garrison is primarily aimed at an adult audience, but are welcome at their parent or guardian's discretion. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
The official after party is strictly for 18's and over.
Small bags no larger than A4 size are allowed. Large bags and backpacks are not permitted. If you have a medical condition that requires you to carry a bag larger than A4 size, please contact our team to discuss this further. Sunscreen is allowed but must be in containers of 50ml or less.
No food or drink (except one sealed water bottle up to 500ml) may be brought onto the pride site. There will be a variety of food vendors and bars available.
Pets are not allowed on the pride site due to crowds and noise. Assistance dogs are welcome. Please contact our Access Team at info@barnsleypride.org (mailto:info@barnsleypride.org)if you are planning on bringing an assistance dog.
Bars and vendors accept both cash and card payments across the pride site.
Yes, a dedicated safe space is located within the Barnsley Civic for anyone who needs a quiet or supportive environment during the event.
To ensure a safe environment, the following are prohibited: psychoactive substances or legal highs, weapons or dangerous items, alcohol and glass containers, flares, fireworks, pyrotechnics, Chinese lanterns, large inflatables, bicycles, skateboards, scooters, drones, flyer distribution. Security may inspect aerosols or gels upon entry.
No. Barnsley Pride will not have a parade in 2026. The logistics of a parade for 2027 are being discussed.
Yes! We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds aged 16 and over. Visit our volunteers page for more information and to apply.
Barnsley Pride is a not-for-profit organisation. Any and all donations are put back into the community to fund future events.
