Who We Are

We are Barnsley Pride. We are a UK based charity that promote, celebrate and support the Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer+ community in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

Our Mission

​

At Barnsley Pride, we’re here to promote equality, diversity and inclusion across Barnsley and the surrounding area. We work to challenge discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, raise awareness of equality and diversity, and help bring people from different backgrounds together.

Through our annual Barnsley Pride event, alongside inclusive community activities, events and projects throughout the year, we create opportunities for people to connect, celebrate who they are, learn from one another and feel part of a welcoming community.

Charitable Status

​

On 03 September 2026, we were granted charitable status (Charity Registration Number 1219520). Barnsley Pride receives no core government funding and funds are instead raised in a variety of ways including grants, donations, sponsorship and fundraising events.
